Mean arterial pressure (MAP) is an estimate of the average pressure driving blood flow to the organs throughout the cardiac cycle. It is calculated from systolic and diastolic blood pressure and commonly used as a global indicator of organ perfusion. This calculator uses the classic formula MAP = (SBP + 2 × DBP) / 3 for educational purposes only.

Mean arterial pressure (MAP): – mmHg
Pulse pressure (SBP − DBP): – mmHg
As a rough guide in adults, a MAP of about 70–100 mmHg is usually considered adequate for organ perfusion. Persistent MAP < 60 mmHg may compromise tissue perfusion, whereas chronically elevated values are associated with increased cardiovascular risk. Interpretation must always be made by a qualified healthcare professional in the appropriate clinical context.
